Lately, there's been an uprising of all kinds of tools and frameworks to enhance your workflow. Some are just redundant and some are genius, like Grunt.

The last couple of months, I've been working on a specific project with a great team, using a lot of different frameworks and libraries like Backbone.js, Underscore.js, require.js, Bower and so on. Since it's such a complex project, we had to start thinking about letting these tools do stuff for us instead of trying to manage everything ourselves.

A while ago, I started thinking about an SSD upgrade for my 27" iMac (mid 2010 model). I often upgraded some of my previous computers or laptops myself, but I find the iMac a little too tricky to fool around with because you have to take the front glass off with suction caps.

When Apple launched their replacement program for the 1TB Seagate hard drives, I decided that this was the moment to add an SSD to my precious iMac.

With popular services such as GitHub, Bitbucket or Beanstalk, I'm still amazed by how many people still don't use versioning these days.
If you ask them why, they usually say something like "Oh, I have backups of my projects on an external hard drive" or "I don't need versioning because I work solo" or even worse, they ask you what version control is.

I often need a random password for yet another account on some website I will probably visit only once. In the past I used different online and/or offline tools or browser plugins to generate these random passwords but that required me to launch other applications and selecting various options over and over again to fill in my needs. Then I discovered an easy way to do exactly that through Terminal and immediately copy it to the clipboard as well.

Last week when I was slicing an awesome theme design from Veerle Pieters for Fork CMS, I ran into a problem with the Chunk font. Like with French, we also have some special characters such as "ë" in Dutch.
Unfortunately, the character set for @font-face use is pretty limited so I had to look for another solution which I found here. There's this French guy who added those special characters missing from the Chunk font to be able to use it for languagues which use those special characters with accents; big thumbs up!

Of course it would be even better when the League of Moveable Type would be so kind to add these characters to the webfont character set and give the awesome Chunk font an official update.
